Fly Fishing Intro Class

The Fly Fishing Intro Class is perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a refresher. Our instructors will teach you the basics of fly fishing gear, including how to choose and assemble equipment for different conditions. You’ll get hands-on lessons in tying flies, casting for accuracy and distance, and reading the water to find the best fishing spots. The class also covers ethical fishing practices, including safe catch-and-release techniques to support sustainability.

This class is designed to give you the confidence to enjoy fly fishing. You'll practice in both indoor and outdoor sessions to build your skills. At $300 per person, held in our shop and outdoor locations around Gunnison, it’s a comprehensive way to start your fly fishing journey.

Casting Class

Anglers looking to improve their casting skills will find the Casting Class a perfect fit. Whether you’re learning the basics or aiming for advanced accuracy and distance, our expert instructors will help you tackle challenges like tangles or errant casts. You'll also learn about line management, troubleshooting common issues, and understanding how your rod and reel affect each cast. Plus, you'll get tips on choosing the right fly lines for different situations.

The class covers various casting styles, including roll casting, back casting, and reach casting. Through hands-on instruction and outdoor practice, you’ll master the key movements that elevate your casting. By the end, you’ll approach the water with confidence, accuracy, and problem-solving skills. The Casting Class is $120 per person and takes place in both shop space and nearby natural settings for the best learning experience.
