Dane Scott
Owner/Guide
I grew up in Colorado, My father and Grandfather both avid fly fishermen, had me wading and fishing the creeks of Gunnison County at a very young age. My first job was working in my grandfather’s fly shop right here in Gunnison. Not long after that I started Guiding and never looked back. I now spend my time guiding and running the shop in Gunnison for the trout fishing season, and guiding for redfish and other saltwater species on the Texas coast in the fall/winter.

I grew up in a family of hunters and fishermen in Upstate NY just South of the Adirondack Mountains. I grew up exposed to the outdoors from a young age and eventually just could not put my fly rod down. I later moved to Gunnison in 2017 to guide this river right after graduating college. I have since become a saltwater captain and guide fly fishing on the Middle Texas Coast targeting Redfish during the colder Colorado months.

From Tomball, Texas. I grew up fly fishing for bass and carp on Texas and Ohio creeks and rivers. I started fishing for trout when I got into college between the Guadalupe river in Texas and the Gunnison and Arkansas river drainages in Colorado. I started guiding for trout and bass on the San Marcos and Guadalupe rivers when I graduated college. I now split time between Colorado and Texas guiding Trout and bass float trips.
